World Food
TAB report analyses variables influencing the world food situation as promising starting points for research.
The TAB report »Possible Contributions of Research to Solve the World Food Problem — Approaches, Strategies, Implementation« analyses influencing factors of the world food situation as potential starting points for research. On this basis, proposals for possible research priorities and options for action for research policy have been developed.
For decades now, undernourishment and malnutrition have been among the most serious problems the global community has to face. Important contributions to solving the world food problem are expected from research.
The current TAB report no. 142
- outlines three different perspectives on the world food problem (quantity, access and nutritional perspective) and their impact on framing the problem,
- analyses influencing factors on the supply and demand side and on access to food,
- provides a detailed description of selected fields of research and their potential,
- outlines possible thematic priorities for future research
- and discusses options for action for research policy.
